Restore your smile with dental crowns in Hull

A damaged or broken tooth can drain your confidence. It can also develop into a more serious problem if you leave it untreated. With a new crown from 543 Dental Centre, you’ll have a healthier mouth and a brighter smile!

Custom-Made Dental Crowns

Custom-made in a Hull-based dental lab, a dental crown is bonded over the top of the existing tooth, bringing a tooth that is badly decayed, weak or broken through injury back to full function.

Crowns are often the next course of action when fillings are no longer effective, or after root canal treatment, which leaves teeth weakened and brittle. They are also used to anchor a dental bridge.

While traditional crowns are made of metal or gold, we offer advanced materials that allow for completely lifelike, tooth-coloured restorations that match your natural smile.

Same-Day Crowns in Hull

Dentistry’s latest digital technology now lets our clinicians create natural-looking, well-fitting crowns in just one appointment. A digital intraoral scan replaces traditional impressions, and your crown is designed and then made on our state-of-the-art milling machine in the practice while you wait.

This technology is at the cutting edge of UK dentistry, and 543 Dental Centre is delighted to bring this service to our patients. Watch the video here to learn more.

Restoring Your Tooth in 3 Steps

Step One:

The first step of same-day crowns is a digital scan. A tiny camera at the end of a handpiece scans your teeth and gums, producing high-quality images of your mouth.

Step Two:

The dentist then uses these images to design a highly accurate crown that will look natural and fit comfortably in your mouth.

Step Three:

The crown is then milled in-house while you wait and fitted on the same day.

FAQs

What type of crown do I need?

If we can’t repair your tooth with a simple filling or inlay, we’ll recommend one of two crowns: gold or ceramic.

  • Gold/Silver-coloured crowns
Hardwearing and kind to your mouth, these are best suited to your back teeth.
  • Tooth-coloured crowns
Also called caps, tooth-coloured crowns are perfect for your front teeth. They’re made from porcelain bonded to a metal shell.

Do you offer all-porcelain crowns?

Yes, if you don’t want any metal, we can fit Procera or Emax all-ceramic crowns, if suitable for your teeth.

How long will my crown last?

Longevity is continually increasing thanks to ever more advanced technology. Crowns typically last around 5 years, though some can last much longer. A crown’s lifespan is greatly dependent on good oral hygiene and dietary habits.

Do same-day crowns require traditional impressions?

No. That’s one of the key benefits of a same-day crown. We use a digital intraoral scanner to take the impression, which is clean, fast and highly accurate.

How long do same-day crowns take?

Every case is different, but in general, a single crown can be prepared, designed and produced in around 3 hours. This saves time, as everything can be completed in a single visit.

Will the crown match my other teeth?

This is one of the great things about the technology we use: the material used to create your crown is highly aesthetic and can be customised to match the surrounding teeth.

Are same-day crowns as good as lab crowns?

Same-day crowns at 543 Dental Centre offer many benefits over lab crowns. They are quick to make, highly accurate, durable, and eradicate the need for a temporary crown – meaning your tooth is fully protected right away. However, there are some cases where the dentist might recommend a lab-made crown.

Patient Testimonials

Lauren AudleySedation & Tooth Extraction

I’m quite a nervous dental patient and had already attempted an extraction twice at my usual dentist without success. I was referred here for a sedation tooth extraction and the experience was surprisingly positive. Every member of staff I spoke to was incredibly kind and reassuring. The procedure itself was quick and stress-free, and the sedation made it much easier than I expected. I honestly left thinking it was the best dental visit I’ve had.

Max CampeyGeneral Dental Treatment

My dentist Henry Furbank was fantastic during my appointment. He is kind, caring and always takes time to explain what treatment is needed and why. His assistant Gemma was equally friendly and supportive throughout the visit. It really makes a difference when the dental team communicates clearly and treats you with patience. The whole appointment felt professional, relaxed and reassuring.

Anonymous ReviewerInitial Consultation and Treatment Planning

My first interaction with the practice was over the phone while arranging a consultation for dental treatment. Abby, who handled my call, was very patient and helpful even though she mentioned she was quite new. When I arrived for my appointment the atmosphere in the practice was welcoming and relaxed. The staff were friendly and professional, which made me feel confident about starting treatment here.

Keith HarrisonRoutine Dental Appointments

I’ve been attending the practice for routine dental check-ups and have always found the service excellent. The staff are consistently friendly and welcoming, which makes appointments much easier. The dentists take time to explain any issues and provide clear advice about maintaining good oral health. The practice feels well organised and professional, and I always leave feeling confident about my dental care.
